Urban Matrix Recommendations

Based on the experiences of URBAN MATRIX, the project consortium has elaborated a series of recommendations targeted at the European Commission. The recommendations propose ways to shape future EU research funding in a way that ensures the challenges of sustainable urban development are efficiently addressed; they also present ideas on how cities can be encouraged to become more active participants in EU-funded research projects.

About Urban Matrix

URBAN MATRIX provides a knowledge transfer platform designed to support European in learning about projects and policies related to Sustainable Urban Development (SUD). Funded by the Sixth Framework Programme on Research and Technological Development, this four year project (2006 – 2010) has connected knowledge providers and end-users to allow the exchange of best practice, expertise and application of sustainable urban development solutions.
