Thematic Seminar 5: Public-Private Partnerships & Sustainable Urban Development
In our last URBAN MATRIX Survey (2008), Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) came out as the top theme in which cities require knowledge. Therefore, this fifth thematic workshop held om 27/28 of April 2009 in Malmo focused on this theme, paying special attention to the environmental and sustainable development implications of such partnerships.
Discussions were centred on ‘finding the right balance’ between PPPs and Sustainable Urban Development. City practitioners, researchers and business representatives examined different types of projects and exchanged their ideas on innovative ways of financing city projects without compromising their environmental ambitions for their cities.
